QCWA Alberta Wild Rose Chapter 151 Quarterly Report

The chapter held its 25th anniversary banquet on May 9, 2009. There were 36 in attendance.

President Ken Oelke, VE6AFO read congratulatory letters from QCWA National President Bob Roske, NĜUF to Les Card, VE6CA, for celebrating 70 years in amateur radio and to Tim Ellam, VE6SH, for his recent election as President of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU). Ironically Tim took office the same day as our banquet and therefore gave his first official speech at the chapter banquet. Of course we are all proud that we can boast about this. Tim noted how things evolved over the years in his life as an amateur radio operator to the point of him becoming president of the IARU.

Chapter 151's oldest member, Les Card, VE6CA, gave a presentation of his life story. I believe we all become to realize how things have evolved and changed over the years! Chapter 151 presented a plaque to Les honouring him in his 70 years as an amateur radio operator.

</p>

The next meeting of Chapter 151 will be held on September 26, 2009. This will be the annual general meeting in where election of new officers for the chapter will take place. Chapter 151's term of office for the executive is two years.
