QCWA Wild Rose Chapter 151 (Alberta, Canada)

May 18, 2014 marks the 30th Anniversary of Wild Rose Chapter 151. To mark this special occasion, Chapter members and guests celebrated with a banquet on April 26th at the Blackfoot Inn, Calgary. Gordon Hungerford, VE6TI, emceed the evening. There was an on-going slide presentation of the Chapter’s history and time to reflect on the Silent Keys that played important roles in the Chapter. The banquet included an impressive buffet.

After dinner, Chapter President, Ken Oelke, VE6AFO, presented Gordon Hungerford, VE6TI with his 50 Year Award, and Dave Craig, VE6DKC, with the Meritorious Award for his hard work as Treasurer.

Chapter 151 also participated in the Calgary Amateur Radio Association Fleamarket on April 5th. The Chapter has had a table at this event for several years. Chapter Secretary, Mitch Goodjohn, VE6SM, enjoys working the table, as it’s an opportunity to socialize with the larger amateur radio community, advertise the Chapter and recruit new members, and add to his equipment collection at bargain prices.
