Old Business
From the last meeting minutes, under new business, discussions continued with regard to Chapter 151 investigating the idea of incorporating Chapter 151 with Alberta Societies. After several comments from the members, discussing the pros and cons, it was felt the decision would be left up to the executive if they felt it worthy for the Chapter to incorporate. On this note - this concludes this item of business.
Ongoing Business
As usual - Chapter 151 is always looking for volunteers to help out at the Military Museums to demonstrate Morse code to student groups who annually tour the facility. Proficiency in Morse code is not required. There is no need in having to remember (many have forgotten for the lack of using Morse code), how to send or receive Morse code. A cheat sheet is handed out to the students and all you have to do is demonstrate on the supplied Morse key how a character is sent, using the same cheat sheet, if necessary. If you wish to help out with this worthy project - contact Ken Oelke, VE6AFO at 403-226-5840 or e-mail at (replace the 'at' with '@', for more information on this worthy project. Ken will explain what is involved and will tutor you on your first 'Morse code demo' visit to the Museum.
New Business
The subject of where our next meeting, to be held near the end of April 2011, will be held. The Tuxedo Park Community Association hall rent has gone up to $350.00, from the very, very good deal we were getting for $100.00. President Ken Oelke brought forth suggestions for a future meeting place. Some of these were possibly going to a room dedicated for our meeting at a restaurant. Although it was felt in order to get a dedicated room we may have to meet during a weekday, since Saturday is usually a busy time business wise for most restaurants.
A suggestion was brought up to use the restaurant across the street from the old Frank Sissons Bowling and Casino, which does have meeting rooms. Howard Hepburn, VE6GT, will investigate this venue and get back to the executive.
Draw and Door Prize
Don Eaglesham, VA6DJE, won $23.33 in the 33-33-33 draw. Valerie Hepburn, VE6VMH's ticket was drawn resulting in her failing to cut an ace to win the 33-33-33 jack pot.
Chapter 151 donated (2) $20.00 cash prizes, which were won by Glenda Wilson and Neil Ibbetson, VE6NRI. Ken Oelke donated (2) Yaesu world wall maps, which were won by Max Farmer, VE6SL and Bernie Feisst, VE6WIN. Nancy Jenkins, VE6OTL donated (4) beadwork bookmarkers. Lisa Feisst, VE6LLF, Linda Linton, Flo Linton, KD7ATS and Mildred Ohlhauser won these.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held in April 2011 at a place yet to be determined. Watch for future Chapter 151 bulletins for further news on the venue.
Meeting Adjourned
Meeting was adjourned by Bernie Feisst, VE6WIN
ISS DVD Presentation by Ken Oelke, VE6AFO

As well, Ken showed a couple of TV video news clips outlining a couple of ISS school contacts held in Calgary during 2006 and 2009.
